Row Crop Update - 11/16/2022

Dear Valued Customers,

Due to severe weather patterns out west, row crop markets are expected to remain in extreme conditions.

Low quality and limited supplies have caused record-high pricing on lettuce, broccoli, and spinach varieties. Expect these higher prices while markets remain tight. Products received within the next few weeks may possess quality defects such as:

  • Lighter weights
  • Smaller sizes
  • Rib discoloration

Early transition to Yuma has begun, so expect lighter supplies and higher pricing until growing is fully established in this region.

Contact your sales rep for alternatives available through Premier ProduceOne, such as locally-grown lettuce varieties, kale, and cabbage.

Items affected include iceberg lettuce, shredded lettuce (all varieties), romaine, romaine hearts, chopped romaine, red leaf lettuce, spring mix, broccoli florets, broccolini, and spinach (all varieties).

We will continue to update our website and market report as new commodity information is available.
